Description: All net proceeds and donations received from the 2008 Waterloo Race directly benefit local residents with diabetes. Administrative expenses as a result of hosting the event and management of the Diabetes Initiative are provided in-kind through the Texoma Health Foundation. This annual fund raising effort allows THF the opportunity to provide scholarships for local children to attend three (3)- week diabetes camp where they receive daily support aimed at teaching healthy lifestyle choices to effectively manage their diabetes. Remaining funds are allocated to community programs providing education and testing supplies to local residents in need with diabetes. The Waterloo Race for Diabetes has become a recognized event in Texoma and an important resource of help for those in need in the community. The Foundation, with support from local partners and volunteers, is proud to host this year's race and support the ongoing efforts that have been put forth to make this initiative possible.
