Well, week one for Texas is done. How'd your teams do? We here are KTEN are getting ready to cover both sides of the river with Oklahoma joining the schedule this week. What I'm curious this week is, who are some of your favorite picks to go far in playoffs this year (on either side). Dickson is ranked #1 in Oklahoma Class 3A, and several Texas teams are ranked their Divisions. So who do you think will make it all the way? Best of luck to your team this week! I woke up this morning, and in the weather was that feel of fall. I love this time of year. There is nothing better than a Friday night on the sidelines. The smells, the sounds, the energy, the game itself! But what takes our area sports events to the extraordinary levels are the people who make it special. I really enjoy hearing stories of players, coaches & parents who go the extra mile to leave an imprint on our lives. Perhaps you know someone who has done this. I want to hear your stories. Share them below, or e-mail me at sports@kten.com. Hope you have a wonderful week! - Holly/KTEN Sports
I would like to see KTEN do a feature on the North Lamar Girls Softball team about their season and how they are doing in the playoffs. In 3 playoff games they have outscored their opponent 30 - 2 and gave up 1 run total in district play. I believe they have 3 pitchers that have pitched no hitters this season. The stats fly off the charts. They recently had a pep talk from Scott Scudder who is from this area and played with the Reds in the World Series.
By the way, the North Lamar boys baseball team is progressing through the playoffs as well as the Paris boys.
Thanks, dk
I am proud of the Boswell Scorpions for the way they are handling things with 3 suspended starters and one injured starter. They are also looking forward to making a playoff run to win districts, regionals and advance to area championship game and hopefully this is the year that we get over the hump in area and advance to state for the 2nd time in boswell's history.
I also wish all the luck to the Stringtown Tigers to go all the way. ( My whole family are fans )
Good Luck to you Guys go all the way
